Ultra Marin 57k - June 2019

Now that my triathlon race and training are over, I can finally start what I love the most which is trail running. My first objective of the year (after Ecotrail of Paris 45k in March) is the Ultra Marin 57k in June. The race is flat but the conditions were extremely humid this year as the race happened during the heat wave in France. It was 30 C at 5pm at the start of the race!

Nicolas happens to have a country house in Sarzeau which is where the race starts, to go around Golf du Morbihan. I loved discovering that region and we definitely celebrated well enjoying the products of the region the following day with beers, oysters and lobsters :-)

The highlight for me was definitely when after km 40 we met the kids and our wives (it was a surprise). They had been waiting for us for almost an hour with signs encouraging their dad. There is nothing to be more proud of! We enjoyed an incredible sunset to finish in Vannes around 1am.
